Genealogy: We Are All Teachers (Every Day of Our Lives)

Event Description
Regardless of what our job titles might be, we are all teachers every day of our lives. Sometimes we teach with the words that we speak—e.g., “Here’s how I do that.” Sometimes we teach through our actions—e.g., demonstrating a skill by performing it, remaining calm when others are not, or listening with empathy. Sometimes we use both words and actions to teach—e.g., “Watch how I position my fingers so that I can hold food with chopsticks.” Sometimes we teach by being a positive model that others might emulate; sometimes we teach by being a negative model, which may cause others to think, “I hope I never treat people that way.” In this workshop, we will reflect on our experiences with teaching—both as teachers and as learners.
